"Avoid this company at all costs"
Steer clear of this company. They refuse to cover a turbo repair since my vehicle had its oil changed at a non-VAT registered place back then. I really don’t get how an oil change at a VAT registered shop would impact the turbo issue, but they’re using it as a reason to deny the repairs. Total waste of both money and time.

"I dropped a grand on a lifetime Premium + Assist..."
I forked out £1000 for a lifetime Premium + Assist policy for my 2015 Vauxhall Mokka. When I noticed coolant was disappearing, I asked a technician from my vehicle hire company to check it out. He told me the water pump had gone bad and was leaking from the main part, needing a replacement. I reached out to Autoguard, only to be informed that it wasn’t covered. They came up with excuses, saying they don’t cover leaks, just mechanical failures. So, if this isn’t a mechanical failure, then what is? Seriously, don’t throw your money at this company; they just take it and won’t help you when it’s time to make a claim.

"Four Attempts to Avoid Payment"
I had this warranty when I got my car about 6 months ago, and it was marketed as Premium.

So, the local garage discovered a faulty shock absorber during an oil change and health check.

After a ton of back-and-forth emails arguing over what counts as a fault—whether a leaky shock is a result of a fault or the cause—they finally admitted the shock was indeed faulty. Strike 1.
Then they claimed that if the car had been driven with a fault, they wouldn’t be responsible. I told them the car was parked in a garage since I had access to another vehicle. Strike 2.
Next, they said it was just wear and tear since the car was 6 years old. A quick search showed that the average lifespan of a shock is 7-8 years, so I thought I was in the clear. But then they switched it up, saying it’s measured by mileage, and since the car had done 90k, that changed everything. (This part never really got resolved.) Strike 3.
After a few days of email back-and-forth, they finally found their 'get out of jail free card' buried in section No.5 of the T&Cs: "all faults need to be reported to the warranty company no later than 7 days after the fault is discovered." I couldn’t dig up the email proof I needed that the supplying garage told me I was fine to drive on the shock. Bummer—strike 4.
So, it took them four tries to dodge paying up. Honestly, if you have an insurance company, these folks are pros at wriggling out of tight spots.

In the end, this is pretty much like 90% of the AUTO warranties handed out by dealers—not really worth the paper they’re printed on.

"Good luck trying to make a claim"
This was my first experience with a warranty service since the car I purchased had a 6-month coverage. I found out the vehicle was overheating and the air conditioning wasn’t blowing any warm air. Took it to my mechanic, and they spotted a crack in the water reservoir. They replaced it, but since it’s an external leak, it’s not included in the coverage. I’m done with this company for sure, and if I ever buy another car, I won’t be signing up with them again. Best to steer clear of this.

"Quick and Friendly Service"
The service was super quick and the folks were really nice to work with, helping me get back on the road in no time. I was genuinely impressed, especially after my experiences with other warranty providers that didn’t come through. Big thanks to Autoguard!

"Steer Clear of This Warranty Provider"
Steer Clear of This Warranty Provider.

I purchased a one-year warranty for my vehicle back in September 2022. Just three months later, I ran into an engine start/stop issue and had to bring it to the Nissan service center since it required a new battery and a software update. After Nissan performed a vehicle health check, they discovered a significant oil leak, which meant I needed a new timing cover, and the suspension ball joint and wishbone were totally worn out. These are crucial components that had to be fixed right away to protect the car and engine from further harm.

Unfortunately, Autoguard warranty company turned down my claim for all the necessary repairs and parts.

"Absolutely Satisfied"
I’ve got nothing but good things to share about Autoguard. The car I purchased had issues right after I brought it home, but Mass was incredibly patient and took the time to hear me out. He shared his own insights on how to tackle the situation. I’m really thankful and plan to get Autoguard policies for my upcoming vehicles.

"The cover raises some doubts, yet…"
The cover raises some doubts, yet you can't really expect a warranty provider to handle every single issue that might arise, as that just wouldn't make sense for a business.

I'm not here to critique the company itself; I'm sharing my experience with one of the account managers, Mass. He truly went the extra mile to help me secure some funds for my repairs, and for that, I'm really thankful.

"Should be rated a zero."
Where do I even begin? I called to sort out the problem, and the person on the line was quite rude. When I finally explained the issue, they told me it wasn’t covered. This is just like another problem I had when I first got the vehicle, which also wasn’t included. Honestly, I doubt they’d help even if the wheels came off while you were driving! Plus, the labor costs are ridiculous at £50! I can’t think of any garage that charges that little these days. All in all, this service isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on! What cracks me up is I got an email offering a discount to extend it! Seriously, don’t waste your cash!

"Absolutely the worst company to deal with"
This is truly one of the most frustrating companies I've ever had to deal with. They denied my claim while nitpicking for any excuse not to pay. The folks on the phone are downright rude and often sarcastic. I’d strongly advise against using them as a warranty provider since they clearly don’t care about their customers. I’d rate them a 1 out of 10, and that’s just because they answered my call. The staff is unhelpful, and the overall service is terrible. Also, make sure to read the fine print—that’s how they get ya.

"Read the fine print carefully."
I purchased a used car from a dealership that came with a 3-month Autoguard warranty. Just two months in, warning lights started flashing, so I took it to a mechanic. Autoguard has flat-out denied covering any of the numerous issues, claiming that each component is specified and none are mentioned on page 5 of the fine print. Now, I'm stuck with a hefty repair bill, even though the garage insists that the faulty parts are quite common and can't figure out why Autoguard refuses to cover them.

"Definitely a thumbs up!"
I was super impressed with the service I got. When I purchased my car, I opted for a warranty, and just 6 months later, my heater motor needed a fix. Autoguard was fantastic; I got through to them right away on the phone—no endless waiting! They confirmed I could proceed with the repair in just 4 hours after I reached out. The next morning, they sent over the paperwork for the BACS payment, and I had the funds by that afternoon! Truly excellent service.

"Read the fine print to know what's included"
So, I called about a potential claim for my car a couple of months back, and I was told that the part I thought was broken would be covered under warranty since the car had only 43k miles on it. I mean, my previous cars with nearly 190k never had this problem. Then, the garage doing the repairs reached out to say they figured out what was wrong, but the work wouldn’t be done for another 3 weeks because they were swamped.

Autogard later mentioned that once the engine head was taken apart, I should send them photos and the bill before they would proceed with installing new parts. But then, I was hit with the news that they don’t actually cover that part, and they wouldn’t pay a dime, leaving me with a stripped engine head and a hefty bill to pay.

Why couldn’t they have informed me that the part wasn’t covered before tearing the engine apart? It’s frustrating to get halfway through the job only to be told no.

There really needs to be better communication within the company so they don’t mislead folks about what’s covered when it’s not. Just a heads up: when you get a policy from a dealer, make sure you check what’s actually included so you don’t end up stuck with a bill halfway through a repair.

"Fantastic Warranty Provider"
I can't imagine life without Autoguard. It gives me total peace of mind with their warranty and breakdown coverage. Plus, their app is super user-friendly. I definitely recommend it!

"Beware of Autoguard!"
Autoguard is a total scam! They straight-up lied to me over the phone. The recording shows the seller was dishonest. After I raised the issue, the team leader also misled me. Then there was director John, who acted all scandalized. They assured me I was covered for wear and tear! It’s all on tape, and now they claim I’m NOT covered, but everything’s fine. They never mentioned that before. They refunded me one payment (not a whole year’s worth) and said they didn’t say anything wrong. Now, they’ve completely stopped replying to my emails! I’m heading to a solicitor to deal with these scammers!
